Sarah

At just 37 years old, Sarah didn’t expect to suffer from a heart attack. When this devastating emergency happened, she knew it was time to stop smoking. Sarah was referred to Yorkshire Smokefree via the hospital, and has been using our hub services to help her quit.

Since the heart attack 5 weeks ago, Sarah has seen some dramatic changes to her life - she’s only just able to get out for a short 5 minute walk a day. However, some changes have been positive – Sarah also hasn’t touched a cigarette for the past 5 weeks either, a fantastic achievement!

To help with her quit, Sarah has avoided anything that would be a trigger to smoke. She’s stopped drinking and also cut from a whopping 40 cups of coffee a day to just 3 or 4. She’s also found that her eating habits are better and has started to eat breakfast now, something she never did before.

Yorkshire Smokefree have been great. It’s helped to have someone to talk to and I’ve found the advisors really supportive and genuinely thoughtful.

We want to wish Sarah a speedy recovery and all the best on her smokefree journey. Congratulations on being 5 weeks smokefree!
